El bacheletismo Alliance proposed by Joaquin Lavin, beyond positioning strategies that the author could claim, reveals an important and delicate. In my opinion, Lavin does not refer to a concordance of principles and common values \u200b\u200bwith the President, but gives strong support only in consideration of his position and rank. Most disturbing is that this expression, and hence the interest to interpret it correctly, is quite logical, given our current reality: low participation and where the only controller of the policy is the president. This is due to our institutional design, inherited from the dictatorship and the precepts of the product unionism, mainly subsidiarity, which have led to the complete dissociation between politics and citizens.
Chile requires strong political parties, but the Chileans living a crisis of product representation we have been taught and enforced, since the Constitution, the inability to participate in politics outside traditional structures. Entry barriers to participation pass to ignore the political work performed by citizens daily, in their work, foundations and others. Therefore, we used to see political action and political activity as a remote and alien to life daily, relegated to parties that are unrepresentative and originality in his approach. The challenge, then, does not happen because the parties to increase their bases of militants, but because they do a total redesign and reposition integrating politics as an everyday activity by ordinary citizens. Independent call today is quite bold, even offensive to some. However, the aim is simple: to open these opportunities for participation and bring the exercise of influence in politics and public power to all citizens, with no barriers to entry that the fellowship of principles and aspirations. While we maintain an electoral system so perverse as binomial and regulation to the parties as rigid, the distance between citizens and politicians will continue to enhance. In short, everything happens for assuming that subsidiarity, understood unionist-mode is not an end in itself, but as contributes to building a more representative and democratic Chile.
