Good intentions are useless. Or at least that's when they result in an outcome related. How many times have we done something with the best intentions, but it is a real failure? When something affects us only to us, if only one is el perjudicado, entonces pareciera que no importa, que basta pensar que “la intención es lo que importa”.
It is fashionable to talk about this issue and usually associate it with the companies, but the responsibility is a much more extensive. If we focus on that little preached, to "take care", we can reach conclusions that often bother us, but no longer true. Examples that may seem crass, like throwing litter on the ground or not paying the micro acquire vital importance in this regard because they allow us the dimensions of how we are doing by the impact of our own actions. Have we questioned what is our responsibility in the development of the country, or safety, or large Chile's problems?
Our country suffers from a disease of complacency , but that affects not only the institutions or policy, but that affects us each as members of society. It is impossible to criticize another because there is always a response like "I did it with good intention" to a fault, which is set aside or impact damage caused. This particular kind of moral overwhelms us and we can assume that a good intention does not guarantee good results and, often, it seems that we were happy just to meet the first requirement. look only at the intentions has the perverse effect of making us feel good while the impact of our actions to be negative.
But not only has to do with complacency, but with an almost dogmatic fixation on rights. We tend to see ourselves as lifelong consumers - and our relationship with private companies, schools or other - or as beneficiaries - in relation to the state and public services. But it seems that we forget the these rights come responsibilities and the impact they generate to avoid them. do not believe in the longstanding conflict between rights and duties, but I believe that all stakeholders in society are subjects of law - and must work in the most neglected even see it that way - and turn are responsible for good or bad use they make of those rights. If we take sides in this conflict, we will be doing more harm to our society (who is responsible for that?)
responsibility with the last name you can throw, there is just this little challenge. Stop worrying exclusively for our purposes and focus more on how to translate these intentions into positive and beneficial results. Examples of situations how are you too many: volunteer, not to worry about a build a bond with the community ends up being paternalistic, poorly designed public policies that end up affecting the quality of life, ending protests en actos vandálicos; paros que afectan a la economía del país; etc.
